FEATURED ARTIST – Twilight Fancies

Kelly Wilson (soprano)

Follow our series over the next four weeks leading up to the Twilight Fancies concert on 13 June.

Each week we will introduce one of our four featured vocal performers, showcasing great local talent.

This weeks featured artist is Kelly Wilson (vocal soprano)

Kelly is delighted to be working on this concert with such talented people from around the country.   Kelly says “One of my earliest and best memories of performance is going to a nursing home with my grandfather, Mr Rod Wilson. We entertained the residents for a time, then my grandfather announced that it was my seventh birthday. Everyone was happy and smiling; that was when I decided I never wanted to stop singing. I promised I would keep bringing those smiles to people’s faces.

Since then I’ve performed many times as a soloist and as part of a choir, including singing with the Bella Voce choir at ANZAC Day celebrations and competing in the Australian Vocal and Concerto Competition.

I’ve also thoroughly enjoyed being a part of several local theatre productions, the most recent of which were NQOMT’s “The Phantom of the Opera” and “Hello Dolly”.

I have been studying with Susan Grinsell for more than a decade and have now moved into teaching myself. Currently, I am teaching song and dance classes at Ann Roberts School of Dance. I hope I can instill in some of my students the same love of music that my wonderful teachers and mentors have given me.”
