Entrants are currently attending school, and will play one or more movements from the same concerto or work written specifically for soloist and orchestra, string ensemble or concert band. Performers may participate on more than one instrument should they so choose.

The Townsville and District Branch Inc of the Music Teachers’ Association of Queensland (MTAQ) is a professional, not for profit organisation. It aims to promote and maintain high standards of teaching by providing professional development and social contact amongst its members.
