2015 Winners return for Concerts

In partnership with our local community Barrier Reef Orchestra, each year ACVC offers Open Vocal and Open Instrumental Winners the opportunity to return for a performance as soloist in one of the Barrier Reef Orchestra Concerts.

We are pleased to announce that mezzo-soprano Bronwyn Douglass, our 2015 Open Vocal Winner will be performing with the Barrier Reef Orchestra as part of the T 150 Variety Performance on 2 April, 7.30pm at the Townsville Civic Theatre.  This Concert is a celebration of the arts and cultural life of the city over the past 150 years – not to be missed.   Tickets are on sale now.

Our Open Instrumental Winner, Arthur Athan from Melbourne will return on Sunday 17 July to perform with the Orchestra.  More updates when the program has been finalised. While in town Arthur has accepted an offer from our sponsors Music Teachers Association Queensland to run a masterclass/workshop on Friday 15 July.

Still in the planning at this stage, but we are working together with the Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra for Arthur to play Rachmaninoff 2 on 2 April, 2017  in Perth.  Worth keeping your eye out for those discount airfares to Perth next year!
