Maree Kilpatrick – Accompanist
Maree Kilpatrick grew up in the South Burnett, working as an accompanist in the local Eisteddfod from her early teens. She studied under the late Dr Marilyn Meier-Kapavale at the University of Southern Queensland, Toowoomba, receiving several awards including the Dean’s Prize for Music (2010) and Joyce Campbell Lloyd Scholarship (2011), the latter enabling her to spend several months learning from pianists in the UK and Europe.
In 2017-2018, Maree completed her Masters of Music under Stephen De Pledge at the University of Auckland, New Zealand. An alumni of various Australian Youth Orchestra programmes as well as several AFCM Advanced Winterschools, Maree was the 2017 accompaniment intern for the Gisborne International Music Competition.
Maree is currently studying towards her Doctor of Musical Arts at Griffith Conservatorium, and freelances as a collaborative pianist and piano teacher in Brisbane. She is excited to be working as an official accompanist for the Australian Concerto and Vocal Competition this year.
